Party Planning Checklist

This checklist is designed to help busy parents easily plan their next ultimate party, use this checklist to stay organized and on track with all of your planning. This checklist will help you spend very little time each day planning, while allowing you plenty of time to plan.

 
6-8 weeks before the party

v Decide your party budget. Your budget is the first aspect of your party that needs to be planned; your party should be planned around your budget.

v Decide the date of your party. Plan a rain date if you will be hosting your party outdoors.

v Decide the time of your party.

v Choose a party theme.

v Decide on a party location. If booking a venue it is important to do so as early as possible to ensure that you get the venue you want.

v Decide if you will hire or rent entertainment. Whether hiring an entertainer or renting equipment, book early to ensure that it will be available for your party day.

v Draw up a potential guest list.

v If ordering specialty invitations or purchasing online, place your order.

v Order party supplies if you are purchasing online. When purchasing your supplies online allow plenty of time for delivery and any chance of delays.

 
4- 6 weeks before the party

v Begin planning your party food.

v Plan party favours.

v Begin planning your party games and activities.

v Begin preparing your shopping list.

v Buy stock invitations if purchasing.

 
2-3 weeks before the party

v Send out your party invitations.

v Confirm any bookings or arrangements you have made.

v Enlist some helpers to help you the day of the party.

v Make arrangements for animals if necessary.

v Make arrangements for siblings if desired.

 
1 week before party day

v Confirm all RSVPS.

v Finish any shopping that still has to be done.

v Prepare any food that can be frozen.

v Prepare your party favours if not already done.

v Prepare and your party activity schedule.

 
Day before the party

v Make sure you have all of your party supplies that you require.

v Prep any food that can be done ahead of time.

v Pick up the cake.

v Child proof your party area if necessary.

v Prepare a coat setting for guests.

v Talk to your child about party manners.

v Finalize your party schedule.

 
Party Day

v Decorate your party area.

v Place party favours by door.

v Have camera and batteries ready.

v Put party music on shuffle.

v Set up a gift area.

v Have your party schedule handy.

v Any other last minute things.

v HAVE FUN!

 
After the party

v Settle any party bills not already paid.

v Return any rented equipment.
