Planning Your Party Activity Schedule

A schedule will assist you in planning your party and help keep it on track. With the right balance of games and activities your party is sure to be a success.

The following guideline is based on a typical two hour party but can be adjusted to the length of any party.

Duration

Activity

15 minutes

Ice breaker activity. Plan a party activity such as a craft or Pass the Parcel that will accommodate the staggered arrival of guests while allowing the guests to get to know each other and warming up the party excitement.

15-20 minutes

High energy activity. Plan an activity that will allow children to burn off some party excitement.

15-20 minutes

Slow down activity.Plan a calming activity that will settle the children down, crafts or a treasure hunt are great ideas.

20 minutes

Serve food. Children will finish their food at different times and you should arrange some free play activities to allow all children to finish eating.

15 minutes

Wind down activity.Plan activities such as a movie to unwind and relax the kids.

20 minutes

Open presents if doing so.

20 minutes

Free play. Plan an activity that will fill in the wait time for children waiting to be picked up, again times may be quite staggered.
