Buttermilk Pound Cake

 

Yields: 1 10’’ cake

Ingredients:

· 1 cup butter, softened
· 2 cups sugar
· 4 eggs
· 3 cups all- purpose flour
· ½ teaspoon baking soda
· ¼ teaspoon salt
· 1 cup buttermilk
· 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
· 1 teaspoon lemon extract

 

Directions:
· Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease pan and dust with flour.
· Using a mixer, beat butter until creamy. Slowly begin adding the sugar and mix at medium speed until well blended.
· Add eggs, one at a time, and mix after each addition.
 
· In a separate bowl, combine; flour, baking soda, and salt.
 
· Begin adding the flour mixture slowly while alternating with the buttermilk.
 
· Stir in flavours mixing well.
 
· Spoon mixture in to prepare pan and bake for 60 minutes or until the pick comes out clean.
